narrative writing

this for writing we had to write a short narrative. We could pick out of these options left behind,mirror in the attic,lightning never strikes twice and the creature from the deep. I chose left be hind here is my short narrative.
Left behind
“Where are we going, pilot James” questioned Jessica “we are going on my flying ship to go to somewhere magical” answered pilot James “OK” replied Jessica. Once we got on the flying ship we set sail to the magical place Pilot James was talking about.


When we made it to the magical place we landed on the green grass with hills surrounding it. “I thought you said magic” Jessica asked pilot James in confusion pilot James replied “I did but I guess I was wrong”. When we started walking around we saw black and grey birds flying through the sky but there were no houses in sight.


At the end of our trip pilot James was getting the flying ship ready for us to go back home. Then Jessica got distracted by a shadowy figure. She followed the shadow until it stopped, she leaped out from behind it and it was a person she asked him what he was doing here he said “I was following you from the start then you noticed me so I had to run” after that she headed back to the place where pilot James was.


When she headed back to pilot James she was looking for his ship but she couldn’t see it. Then she realised it was up in the sky and yelled “hey come back pilot James you left me behind” but he didn’t listen so she was thinking for a minute of how to get back. Then she got an idea she made a fire and waited for someone to notice it. Then a plane flew over top of her and turned around to land. When the plane landed it opened the door and a man walked out and told me to come in. When she got back she said thank you to the pilot and saw pilot James standing on the doc in front of his ship. He is in for a treat!

when i woke up i found a dinosaur in my backyard

When i woke up this morning and went to my backyard for fresh air. Then i found a dinosaur staring right at me. The dinosaur was a stegosaurus it had huge spikes on it's back and sharp pointy long spikes. I went up to the dinosaur very slowly when it was looking away. I was afraid it was going to eat me but they are herbivorous so I didn't need to be afraid of it eating me but I was still scared it would get mad and chase after me. I went closer and closer then i touch the dinosaur, when I touched the dinosaur the dinosaur looked at me and keep letting me touch him. the dinosaur's skin was hard and bumpy. After a while I got used to the dinosaur that was in my backyard. So I went out side and tried to get on it's back I thought the dinosaur would get really mad but no the dinosaur let me got on his back. When I got on the dinosaur he started walking around my backyard like he was taking me for a ride. After the ride I was starting to wonder what i was going to do with this dinosaur. I got out my phone so i could call the police but I realised that they wouldn't believe that I have a dinosaur in my backyard. I got thinking then I got an idea to ask my friends to help me take the dinosaur in to the forest near our house. When me and my friends got to the forest we let the stegosaurus out of the trailer he was carried in. When he got of he looked at then walked away I was sad that he had to go but I knew it was for his own good so as he walked away I said bye then walked back to the car and went home.

what it's like to be in lock down

ever since the lock down started I have been making bread with my dad, cupcakes and chocolate cookies and doing chores around the house to help my parents. My mum still working so I'm stuck at home with my dad all the time, sometimes we play games and watch movies. Lock down to me is not to bad because i am spending more time with my family. There is bad things about the lock down I don't like I miss my friends and sometimes i am really bored.

jumping jolly jars

This term, our Project Based Learning (PBL) started with the teachers putting us into groups. In these groups we had to work collaboratively to create Jolly Jars for the school fair. This task helped us to begin exploring our PBL question for the term - How can we build community through our actions? We had to research ideas, be creative with our product, experiment with our materials and write instructions that could be followed by others.

I learnt that instructions need to have materials, numbers of steps and pictures if needed.


Reflection on PBL:
For our Jolly Jar my group did origami animals. We thought about doing New Zealand animals but there were no instructions on how to make it.

I contributed to my group by helping others with ideas and giving them feedback on their instructions.

Our Jolly Jar was creative because our logo had a origami bird and our name was Origami Supreme.

What I learned about working with others was that working together with others makes a better achievement because working alone you don’t do a lot but working together you get more done.

How did we build community through our actions? By helping each other and working together as a team we helped to build community by raising money for the school’s bike track.
