When we got there we sat in our sets and waited for the audience to come and sit down and watch us perform. There were over a thousand kids performing that night, the first thing that was being performed was the bicycle band that was my favorite thing. Then the marimbas play there songs then we performed with the other ukuleles my favorite songs were try everything then April sun in Cuba it was really awesome to be part of this big opportunity but that was not my first year to participating in Strum,Strike,Blow my first year was last year 2018. that year we had a lot of people like this year but this year we had 2 or 3 thousand kids performing and I felt like I was dong something good for myself to be in something with so many kids

top team

last Friday we had an opportunity to participate in top team. In this event you are in teams competing against other teams. My favorite challenge was the sling shot, we had to sling shot a bean bag so the people in my team could catch the bean bag and then put it into a bucket. we only got five bean bags into the bucket and the other team got six but I still really enjoyed this challenge. We had seven people in our team they were Max,Me,Grace,Tu,Cooper,Jin Hee and Ebony, we were a really good team we worked really well together and we did our best to have fun. There was also a memory game and games that needed more than 3 people but I liked working with a team because the team I was in did not fight about who would do what and I was really happy about that.

If you were in top team what your favorite challenge be?

This is my second day in Vietnam protesting for the war. All my university friends are getting ready  for the very big protest on Friday so I also have to get ready for the protest as well. There has been a lot of fights going on in the first few days and my friends are trying to get out of it but they say it is really hard to. There are soldier’s fighting right now so I have to talk to you when the fighting has stopped so I won’t know when that will be. I love you very much and miss you can please tell mother that I miss her and love her too.

Over the past few weeks we have been learning to write both formal and informal letters. Here is an example of a letter i wrote about a political event in New Zealand's past.

Dear government
I am writing this letter because I think those New Zealand
soldiers who went to Vietnam should not be there because this is not
our war to fight in.
So I want to write this letter so that you will let the soldiers come home
and I will not stop until you do.
There are thousand of people who are just like me protesting for these
innocent people just let them come home.
Sincerely,

Zoe Newdick

chirst church museum

On Monday we went to the Museum and learned about Maori technology. When we got there we listened to Anthony and Marisa. We got into our groups and went with Anthony. He told us about a story about a green stone taniwha. The green stone taniwha was afraid of only one thing, the sandstone taniwha. One day the green stone taniwha went to New Zealand. When he got there he saw this lady and he fell in love with the lady straight away. Then he took he as a hostage so that she would love him. They went around New Zealand but the ladies husband was following them. Then they came to a river and they went to the top of the river. The husband wanted to kill the taniwha but before he could the taniwha turned his wife into green stone. There is a myth where every time the river floods a piece of green stone come off the green stone lady.
After that we went with Anthony to his classroom where we got to use some Maori tools. Firstly we used a rock smoother. You rub a dry rock against the wet rock to make the dry rock smooth. Then we used this axe that was made out of wood and the sharp bit was made out of green stone. Then we used a drill. There was a wooden stick with a circle around it and then you wrap rope around the stick. Then to make the drill spin you pull them separate ways. Then we used this fire making tool. The tool was made out of wood and there was this stick that you rub against a chunk of wood. Then we drew these pictures. There was these different pictures that would tell other tribes where they were and what they were doing. There was also a carving tool.

In the end me and my group had lots of fun at the museum!

Have you gone to the museum? if you have what is your favourite part?

Zoe Newdick's explanation text about why Pluto is no longer a planet

Why is Pluto no longer a
planet
By Zoe Newdick

Have  you ever wondered why Pluto is no longer a planet? Here are some reasons why.

Pluto is a dwarf planet now but during  1930 and 2006 Pluto was comfortably beside
Neptune as the ninth planet.
Pluto orbits the sun differently compared to the other planets Pluto orbits the sun far
and near and far again

There are three rules of being a planet.
The first rule is that a planet has to be round  Pluto is round so Pluto follows rule
number one.

Rule number two is were a planet has to orbit around the sun Pluto orbits the sun
so Pluto follows
that rule.

Rule number three is that the planet has to clear the area around it.It is like
sweeping around the
house but
Pluto doesn’t follow that rule so that is why Pluto is no longer a planet.

in conclusion Pluto is no longer a planet because Pluto did not follow the three rules
